All-inclusive with tickets and inside a pyramid
This is the day that makes sense of the Pyramids. Instead of seeing Giza in isolation, you follow the story from its beginning: the experimental Step Pyramid at Saqqara, the royal capital of Memphis, and finally the perfected giants of the Giza Plateau.
Your licensed Egyptologist meets you at your hotel and stays with you all day, adapting the pace to you. At Giza you visit the three Pyramids, enjoy the classic panoramic viewpoint, and walk down to the Sphinx. After a relaxed Egyptian lunch, you continue south through palm groves to Memphis, home of the colossal Ramses II, and to Saqqara, where the architect Imhotep built the first pyramid around 4,600 years ago.
It is a full but comfortable day, in your own air-conditioned car, with time for photos and questions at every stop.
Your Egyptologist and driver meet you in the lobby and brief you on the day ahead.
Explore the plateau of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. Optional entry inside one of the pyramids can be arranged with a separate ticket.
Drive to the desert viewpoint for the famous photo of all the pyramids lined up together.
Walk through the granite Valley Temple of Khafre to stand face to face with the Sphinx.
Enjoy a freshly cooked Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant.
See the colossal statue of Ramses II and the alabaster sphinx in Egypt's first capital.
Discover the Step Pyramid of Djoser and its funerary complex, and visit one of the decorated tombs of the nobles.
Relax on the drive back to your hotel in the late afternoon.
