About this journey
This is one of the most unforgettable nights you can spend in Egypt. After a morning drive through the desert to Bahariya Oasis, you switch to a 4x4 and head south into a landscape that changes colour every hour: the black volcanic cones of the Black Desert, the quartz ridge of Crystal Mountain, the dramatic valley of Agabat and finally the White Desert National Park.
As the sun sets on the mushroom-shaped chalk sculptures, your Bedouin crew prepares dinner over the fire and sets up camp. Sleep under the stars, wake up to sunrise in the silence of the desert and return to Cairo in the evening.
Day by day
- Day 1
Cairo – Bahariya – Black Desert – White Desert
Early pickup and drive of about four hours to Bahariya Oasis for lunch. Continue by 4x4 to the Black Desert, Crystal Mountain and Agabat, arriving at the White Desert for sunset. Bedouin dinner and overnight camping.
- Day 2
White Desert – Bahariya – Cairo
Sunrise and breakfast at camp, a short drive among the formations, then return to Bahariya for a dip in a hot spring and lunch. Drive back to Cairo, arriving in the evening.

- We pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza early in the morning.
- Cancellation
- Cancel up to 10 days before your trip and your deposit is refunded in full. Within 10 days the deposit is non-refundable, because your guide, vehicle and tickets are already booked and paid — but you can move your date once for free (up to 48 hours before) and keep your deposit as credit. If we have to cancel, you get a full refund.
- Desert nights are cold from November to March — bring warm layers.
- Camping is simple: there are no showers in the desert.
- Not recommended for travelers with back problems or pregnant travelers.
